Happy New Year Greetings!
Walking home from work today, I saw three people greeting each other.
Two women were on the street and a man was getting out of a car.
Right before one of the women hugged the man, she said in a voice loud enough for me to hear across the street "Happy New Year!"
Presumably, this is the first time she has seen him this year, but shouldn't there be a statute of limitations on this sort of thing?
I metioned this to a student friend by email and he sent this in response:
I hope not.
Otherwise I’d have to stop saying ‘Morning after lunch and singing Christmas songs in May.
BTW
Happy New Year! Merry Christmas! Happy Halloween! Happy President’s Day! Happy Groundhog Day! Happy Independence Day! Happy Halloween! Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Labor Day! Happy Memorial Day! Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! Happy Valentine’s Day! Happy Easter!
I haven’t seen you in a while, and I wanted to make sure I’d made up for all the times I forgot to wish you a happy whatever holiday :-)
University students hey, they all think they are funny stand up comics, wait until he has to pay back his student loan, he won't be laughing then!
